Glossary of Abbreviations

CSS
Cascading Style Sheet. A means for specifying formatting information.
e-mail
Electronic mail. A means of asynchronous communication across computer networks.
HTML
Hypertext Markup Language. A subset of SGML which allows information to be presented in a structured format and to direct the user from one document to another. The basis for the World Wide Web.
MSIE
Microsoft Internet Explorer. One of many available browsing agents.
W3C
The World Wide Web Consortium. A body made up of academics and corporations which defines common standards for the internet.
WWW
The World Wide Web. The body of linked information available on the internet written mostly in HTML.
